Normally this tour can be combined with Tsingy or some diving in the midwest.
Following a river for about 140 km though the villages and fields we head for the jungle.
The landscape is a bit dry at the beginning but never boring because the area is very rich of birds.
You will befriend the local people easily. The river continues flowing and crossing rocky mountains and forest afterwards.
The lemurs, eagle, falcon, ducks and turtles will appear. We can refresh ourselves in natural swimmingpools fed by waterfalls.
Then, after passing huge cliffs which house flying dogs and parrots we'll enter the world of humans again.
The landing is an area very rich of huge baobabs some kilometres before the Mozambic channel. From here you can continue your trip to the north or the south.
Travelling by boat, letting the river decide your route, is a very extraordinary and leisurely way to travel through the wonderfull landscapes of Madagascar. We have two specific boat trips (motorboat or rowing boat) The camping ground will be all along the river on the sand and your alarmclock will be the early morning birds!
The second trip. We'll fly to the departure point of this trip. This trip resembles the above boattrip but the landscape we'll pass is more steep and the river is inhabited by crocodiles. The river flows straight to Tsingy of Bemaraha and then south to the Baobab avenue and Kirindy special reserve
